Get to Know Dr. Ryan Gustafson

“Dr. Gus” is proud to join the Pragma Dental team. He will greet you with a warm smile and
treat you like family!

Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, Dr. Gustafson served in the US Air Force for almost 20 years before joining Pragma Dental. After graduating the US Air Force Academy with military distinction, Ryan was the only member of his class to attend dental school. Ryan excelled as a Distinguished Graduate of UCLA School of Dentistry while earning numerous awards for leadership and clinical excellence.

Dr. Gustafson graduated top of his class for an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency in Fairfield, California with an emphasis on Cosmetics, Oral Surgery, Implants, Endodontics, and Sedation.
Lieutenant Colonel Gustafson’s military career took him around the world including duties in Colorado, Boston, San Antonio, South Korea, Japan, Morocco, Chile, Kuwait, and most recently Oklahoma City. His numerous awards are highlighted by multiple Major Command Dentist of the Year Awards and an Air Force Commendation Medal for an Act of Courage.

Dr. Gustafson is a subject matter expert in digital “same day” dentistry, and serves as a national lecturer for the Academy of General Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of both the American Board of General Dentistry and American College of Dentists.

In addition to multiple humanitarian dental trips, over the last 20 years, Dr. Gustafson has dedicated over 1,100 hours to community service. His efforts focus on visiting Veteran's Homes and retirement centers to provide nostalgia, comfort, and company through World War II and Korean War era "USO Style" performances of song and dance. Ryan has led a team of up to 40 performers of all ages and reached over 60,000 total veterans and senior citizens in the last two decades.

His long list of service and accomplishments recently culminated in him being recognized by the American Dental Association as one of the top young dentists in the country!

You’ll find Dr. Gus around town at Scissortail Park with his two young daughters or dancing to live jazz music with his wife at Bradford House, perhaps a Thunder game or a weekly trip to Costco!

  • Dr. Gus is so bad at singing he was politely kicked off an all-volunteer choir.

  • Dr. Gus also speaks Spanish but can say hello in 13 languages and is excited to learn more!
